Yesterday was the trip to the medical clinic. This is a mandatory check-up before we can enter the US. Since the new treaty was signed last year, it is required for all the children to be up to date on their vaccinations, and kids over 2 have to have a TB test. Wesley and the other kids in our group all had to have 5 to 6 shots each. They gave him 2 flu shots, a pneumonia shot and then 3 other normal ones. He has a fever today and a runny nose and eyes.
While sitting in the clinic, I am amazed at how quickly these children have latched on to their new parents. They are gripping them tightly, and seem to know that they are the ones that are taking care of them. And they don't want to let go! Praise God for calling so many families to come and take these children home.
