Oh how I had forgotten those months of not ever being able to set them down without tears or protest. Jessni still has her moments as when tried or now that Wesley is "stealing" attention, but nothing like it was in the beginning and like where Wesley is at now. I am happy that he has attached well to both of us, still favoring Gary and will quickly reach out to him when he is near, but content with either mom or dad.
I suppose that we are making up for lost time and perhaps even needing to repair damage caused by being in the orphanage for that time. Whatever the reasons are, it is clearly a need that must be fulfilled whatever that cost is, and I know from prior experience that their confidence grows in knowing that you are forever.
Wesley is happy with either of us present and will play well even if we are not directly visible, but will lose it if we get up and leave the room. I’ll be glad when he understands that we will be right back. He is learning so fast right now, perhaps it won’t be long.

Hi! Wow -- can we relate. Livi prefers me, but is happy in Paul's arms, too. One of us needs to be holding her or within arms reach at all times. It was much easier to do in China living in a hotel room where others did the laundry and cooking and cleaning! I am not sure what I am going to do when Paul goes back to work tomorrow. We are very happy to be home, though.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you might consider sharing your story about Jessni's lab tests and thyroid issue with the travel group. I was thinking about that as Livi had blood drawn at the Dr this morning -- knowing that the screaming was very necessary.
We feel your pain as well. Keller is getting better, day by day. But it is difficult when you are the only one home with them and big sister needs attention too & the house and other things need your attention. Nights are still all messed up for him as well. Hope that will resolve soon! Miss you guys! Have a very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWesley is precious! We are so glad you had a safe trip. We'll keep you all in our prayers!
